Your child does not need to arrive knowing the steps. A good beginning gives them a welcoming place to explore music, movement and learning with others. The first question is which class fits their age and readiness.
Kids ages 4–6: Learning Bears
Our youngest dancers begin with short, clear activities that introduce rhythm, balance, coordination and simple ballroom and Latin movements. The group class lasts 30 minutes, with a pace suited to young learners.
Youth ages 7–13: build a foundation
Youth classes provide a more structured introduction to technique, musical timing and partnership. As skills develop, an instructor can discuss private coaching, showcases or competition preparation based on the child’s interest and readiness.
Why we start with a trial lesson
A trial gives your child a chance to meet the instructor and try the learning environment. It also helps us recommend an appropriate class. Book the trial before enrolling in any group class; a child’s age alone does not tell us everything about their experience or needs.
What to bring
Choose comfortable clothing that allows movement, secure footwear and water. Ask your instructor about suitable dance shoes before buying. Arrive a little early so your child can settle in without rushing.
How parents can help
Ask what your child enjoyed and celebrate a small new skill. A consistent routine and encouragement are more useful than pressure to perform. If your child wants individual support, private lessons offer focused attention; appropriate groups are complimentary for children taking consistent private lessons.
